Writing content that ranks is not a big mystery to solve, however, there are a few simple basic principles to follow to achieve a page #1 ranking on Google.

Writing an essay or letter to an HR Manager is not the same as writing content that ranks on Google. First, you will need to know the fundamental basics of SEO and how to organize your content.

It is not easy when you’re just starting out with your first new blog in the SEO world. We all have to start off a noob and progress onwards. No matter how much you think you know when it comes to writing content that ranks its always a learning process all the time.

Well, that is because just like technology, Google is always trying to improve better experience and expertise information to its users.

You need to understand your target audience like what resonates with them and what will bring value to there life or business before you being your writing.

So, for example, if your target audience is Snake owners, you don’t want to write about the best Dog food on the planet. Instead, you want to give them tips on some of the healthiest Snake foods out there.

Furthermore, you need to work on producing unique content that will stand out from all your competitors because there is already a ton of content out there on the same topic.

So what you want to do is go to Ahrefs or Ubersugest and research keywords for a particular topic you want to write about. Both of these tools are paid tolls, however, Ubersuggest is much cheaper to use with some limited free features.

It would be ideal to go after long-tail keywords at first with little to medium traffic volume.

Why? because if you are just starting out your blog will not have any authority to rank content on the first page of Google.

And Content is king, meaning you’ll need lots of content to gain strong authority in Google search.

Understanding On-Page SEO Formula

When it comes to creating great content that ranks you need to understand something called On-Page SEO.

So to give a simple example of what is On-page SEO basically it all comes down to your content structure and how you integrate key phrases in your content. This also includes adding H1, H2, and H3 in your content with your targeted Keywords.

Keep in mind that this method should not be overused because that would be bad for your SEO

When this is done correctly and effectively, On-Page SEO can drastically improve your site ranking performance.

Nonetheless, optimizing your blog for keywords is one thing, however, there are factors within your content that will help you rank.

So if you are on WordPress you can just use plugins like Rank math, SEO Yoast, or any SEO plugin either one works well to structure your content.

Write Content That Ranks and Provides Practical Value

When someone is searching for information online they don’t just want generic content, they want some that is going to be worth their while.

Something they can take or learn from you and say ok I am going to do this now. That an example of a good piece of content.

Years ago I was trying to figure out how some bloggers rank their website so high in Google and most of the content I read on Google did not help me at all. They were just telling me how to do spammy backlinking and how to spin content.

Additionally, when you’re going after all these terms, you should be doing your keyword research. You need to look for questions and key phrases that people are looking for.

So, after you compile all your keywords research, make sure you integrate them in your H1 tags, your title tags, and your meta description as well as within your content but don’t spam.

Create An Eye-Catching Hook

So this method is all about grabbing the reader’s attention in the first place. This is how to get traffic to your site and even potential customers.

This is where the title and meta description is very important. Your job is to write something that is captivating in the title that draws people and males people click through.

Remember a good headline is so critical that 70% of the buying decisions are made from the hook of the blog headline.

And as they said only 8 out of 10 people will read your title headline, 2 out of 10 will click through and read your content.

So make sure you focus on the hook in your headline.

Some people purposely use this method to create ClickBait. that is not what you want to do because as soon as the reader notices its was clickbait, they will bounce.

Generally, that is bad for SEO and will affect your ranking in the long run. Also, it will be hard to create trust with your returning readers.
