A 20 Days Blogging Challenge

Have you ever wanted to start a new blog with a bought expired domain? Well, if that’s the case stick around a bit.

I think you may find some common grounds or learn a thing or two if you are new here. So, my plan here is to keep blogging for the next 20 days everyday challenge.

However, first I want to explain a little about expired domains if you are new here in my own way and why people love buying them.

So before we get started, I want to entail a list of what will be included in this blog post.

  • What is an Expired Domain
  • The benefits of Expired Domains
  • 20 Days Blogging Challenge
  • Content Creation Technique
  • Goals and Expectations/20 Days Blogging Challenge

What is an Expired Domain Name?

We can refer to an expired domain as a branding name .com name that was purchased sometime by someone on a domain registrar.

The said domain name could be a year or two old that is about to expire on the date that is was purchased.

Many people don’t bother to renew the domain name they had purchased. So what they do is caution it for sale if they decided to not renew the expired domain.

However, this may not come as clean-cut as you think. A lot of expired domains are very spammy, yes, they might have a good Domain Authority (DA) and backlinks.

However, the hard truth is that when it comes to expired domains and purchasing one, a lot of the time they are banned from Google search engine and Adsense for Ad revenue.

So, therefore, you might be purchasing a domain name that has no value or use. However, if you do your research will and analyze each domain carefully to can differentiate the Sammy ones from the good ones.

The Benefits Of Expired Domains

So if you are online for a while now you might know about Google sandbox? Well, if you are not aware, Google sandbox is basically like a tiered rank website.

If you have a brand new domain name and you are just starting your online blog or business, you will not rank in the top 10 spot of Google results right of the bat.

Why is that?

Well, first of all, Google has this short of Artificial Intelligence (AI) program incorporated with its algorithm called Google Sandbox.

Google sandbox is like building a new relationship with a significant other or so if you get the idea.

Search Engines like Google will take its time to get to know your site better, what is it your site about, your site quality of work, and so on before it trusts your site to rank.

However, you can go around that pretty easy with an expired domain name.

How So?

Well, with a new domain, you would be more focused on creating content and backlinks to get your site noticed by Google early on.

However, with an expired domain, you will have all that authority and trust with Google already, so you are more inclined to focus on content creation.

That is one way to jump the line and start ranking on Google quickly and effectively.

20 Days Blogging Challenge Experiment

So now that we know a little about Google sandbox, I will explain my 20 days blogging challenge experiment to see if I can rank this expired domain name.

So the first thing I want to do is create as much content as I can for the next 20 – 30 days.

This will be like a brand new site/domain. So since the domain has some good Authority I will see how it performs over the next 20 – 30 days.

The results may not come as quickly, but Like I said this is an experiment.

Content Creation Technique

So for my 20 days blogging challenge, I will focus on writing long-form content because I want to be more thorough when I create each content.

A 20 Days Blogging Challenge

back in the day, you could have content that only has 300 words and rank in the top 5 search results of Google.

However, since Google’s AI has evolved and its algorithm improves, short-form content nowadays hardly ever rank in Goggle.

So when you are creating content for your blog, you want to go for a long-form content technique. It is also a way to show Google that you have subsequent knowledge of the topic or product you are talking about.

That is just of the way to cement your credibility with Google so they can rank your site/blog higher in the search results.

Google now requires everyone to practice something called E.A.T (Expertise, Authority, and Trustworthiness). What does that mean in a quick explanation is, Google wants to rank credible sources of information that users are searching for on the web.

In layman terms, if you don’t know what you are writing about or if you are not certified in the field you are writing about, then you will not rank.

`So if you are not an expert in fields like Treatments, Law, Finance, and whatnot, it would be best to say away for those niches.

Goals and Expectations/20 Days Blogging Challenge

Even though my 20 days blogging challenge may not be guaranteed to work in the favor I want, I am very optimistic that over a long period of time I expecting good results.

So in the next 6 – 8 months I want to start monetizing this blog with Adsense or Ezoic, preferable with Ezoic.

Why Ezoic?

Well, the reason I want to prefer Ezico is that it can actually earn you more when compared to Google Adsense. There are tons of reviews about Ezoic online form people who have used Ezoic improves the earnings up to 400% over Google Adsense.

So with that 6 – 8 months period if its God will, I looking to start earing base on how many pageviews and visitors that come to my blog.

For example, if my blog receives 1000 visitors per day, then I could earn any form 6 – 10 dollars for every 1000 visits. However, it may not be the same for you, it all depends on the niche that you are in.

Niches like Finance, Loan, Health, Fitness, etc will earn more per 1000 visitors. However, those niches are hard to rank in because they are cluster with heavy competitions.

So once again, this is an experiment to see how will an old expired domain can rank in Google. And if you want a head start when it comes to blogging, then expired domain is the way to go.

I am not saying it the best way to go, I would prefer you to start off with a new domain name and grow from there. However, if you know what you are doing and you have some experience with SEO and blogging, then you won’t have a problem ranking expired domain.

That is one of the reasons some people like my self loves expired domain, it gives you a head start with your blogging career.
